Lemon by K. Hunter Art
Lemon (Gratitude)
9.75" × 11.75"
Acrylic on raw-edge canvas with custom archival framing.
Frame included. Ready to hang.
Lemon (Gratitude) is part of a series created by South Shore artist Karla Murphy alongside her 100 Daily Paintings project; a body of work dedicated to exploration, growth, and refining her artistic practice. What began as a challenge to paint subjects that once felt intimidating evolved into a thoughtful study of simplicity, light, and form.
Each painting is created on minimally prepared raw canvas, whose richly textured surface naturally limits fine detail. Rather than striving for realism, Murphy embraces the character of the material, focusing on the essential shapes, values, and depth of each flower, fruit, or vegetable. The result is a collection of expressive, intimate studies that celebrate the quiet beauty of everyday subjects.
Every piece has been professionally custom framed in collaboration with The Frame Center. A layered mat creates a subtle floating effect that showcases the raw edges of the canvas while complementing the colors of the painting.
About the Title
The titles in this collection carry stories of their own. Before beginning the series, Karla invited her Instagram community to share a word or phrase that reminded them of their mothers. Those heartfelt responses became the inspiration for each painting's title, weaving themes of love, gratitude, resilience, comfort, and memory throughout the collection.
Lemon (Gratitude) reflects one of those shared sentiments, adding another layer of meaning to this original work.
This is a one-of-a-kind original painting. No prints or reproductions will be made.
